Arsenal eyeing swoop to sign Joshua Zirkzee this summer
Arsenal are reportedly contemplating signing Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee this summer, as per the Italian outlet Calciomercato.
After moving to the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium from Bayern Munich back in 2022, the 22-year-old has taken a little bit of time to settle down in his new surroundings. But, he has been enjoying a promising campaign this term, scoring 11 goals and registering four assists in 31 Serie A appearances.
Thiago Motta’s side have been mounting a top-four charge this term and following their victory over Roma – where Zirkzee scored a goal and registered an assist, they have now almost secured their place in the Champions League next season.
So, it appears having been impressed by the 22-year-old’s performances this season, the Gunners have registered a firm interest in signing him to reinforce their frontline.
According to the report by Calciomercato, Arsenal are interested in Zirkzee and they could make a concrete approach to sign him in the upcoming window.

However, the report further claims that Juventus and AC Milan are also keen on signing him with the latter already in talks with the player’s representatives before making a potential swoop this summer. So, the Gunners are set to face tough competition from their rivals in getting any potential deal done for him.
It has previously been reported that Bologna want a fee of around £68m for their star man and it remains to be seen whether the North London club eventually push forward to sign him if the Italian side stay firm on their inflated valuation.
Arsenal are reportedly prioritising strengthening their frontline by signing a new prolific goal-scorer this summer. So, they have been linked with numerous names over the coming weeks with Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres being among them but, Zirkzee is on their radar as well.
The Bologna star is a talented player and possesses the necessary attributes to play in Mikel Arteta’s system so he could be a shrewd signing for Arsenal if they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to sign Zirkzee in the upcoming window to reinforce their frontline.
