Arsenal register interest in La Liga sensation Javi Guerra
According to Caught Offside, Arsenal want to sign Valencia starlet Javi Guerra this summer and will offload three midfielders to make room for the youngster.
Mikel Arteta is gearing up for a busy summer transfer window with the Gunners boss recently admitting he already has a clear idea of how he wants to strengthen his squad over the coming months.
Midfield is an area that may see an overhaul as Arsenal are widely expected to bring in a new signing in the middle of the park this summer.
Several names have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent months but Caught Offside claims that Arsenal ‘want to sign’ Valencia sensation Guerra.
The report says Arteta ‘really appreciates’ the 20-year-old’s talent and is keen to lure him to North London after being hugely impressed by his impact at Valencia this season.
In order to make room for a new midfield signing, the report says Jorginho (32), Thomas Partey (30), and Mohammed Elneny (31) are all expected to leave Arsenal this summer.
Top talent
Guerra could be the perfect addition to Arsenal’s engine room. The 20-year-old has impressed in Valencia’s midfield. Aside from his passing, he is highly regarded as a skilled dribbler, possesses an impressive shot, and excels at tackling.
However, Arsenal face stiff competition for his signature as Tottenham, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Barcelona are also interested. Guerra has an £86m release clause, but Caught Offside claims that Valencia will cash-in if an offer worth up to £51m is put on the table.
If Arsenal manages to secure the signature of the Spain U-21 player, beating out competition from some of the top European sides, it would be a real coup for the club.
However, fans may be concerned by Guerra’s lack of experience. He could be viewed as more of a prospect rather than a complete midfielder who’s ready to establish himself as a first team regular in one of Europe’s best teams.
The youngster is still raw and would need a lot of coaching before he fulfils his potential, so it will be interesting to see whether Arsenal decide to push forward with a deal this summer.
