Arsenal could look to sign Marcus Rashford this summer
Arsenal could reportedly look to sign Manchester United star Marcus Rashford this summer, as per the transfer insider Dean Jones.
It has recently been reported that the Gunners are interested in signing the Englishman and Mikel Arteta has already held initial talks with the player to persuade him to join the club.
It has also been reported that Rashford has expressed his desire to move to the Emirates Stadium with the North London club ready to make a swoop if an opportunity arises.
Now, speaking on Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, Jones has reported that the news is too big to be made up so there could be some truth behind that. The journalist further claims that Arsenal would be better off signing a left-winger to reinforce their frontline and Rashford could be a shrewd signing if they purchase him.
Jones also states that Rashford currently earns £325,000-per-week in salary and in addition, Man Utd could demand a fee of around £80m. So, Arsenal would need to splash big money to sign him and it would be a huge moment for Rashford to leave his boyhood club.
Rashford to Arsenal
Jones said:
“Marcus Rashford is Man United through and through, it would take a huge moment for him to leave that club. There are whsipers about a move to Arsenal, a respected Arsenal ITK account suggested there have been discussions between Rashford’s camp and Arteta. I haven’t been able to solidify that information, but it would be quite a thing to make up, and I don’t believe anybody would do that, it’s too big a rumour.
“Can Rashford actually join Arsenal? I think there is scope there to upgrade on the left, but is Rashford elite anymore and he’s on about £350k-a-week, he will be labelled up at £80m. Can I see Arsenal meeting all of that criteria? I think it’s unlikely, but I thought I’d put it on the radar today.”
Although Rashford has struggled to showcase his best this season, he is one of the most talented players in the world. So, his addition would definitely strengthen Arsenal’s frontline if they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to secure his signature in the upcoming transfer window.
