Arsenal are reportedly considering making a raid on Crystal Palace to sign Eberechi Eze this summer, as per The Guardian.

The Gunners have been quiet in this transfer window but they are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Riccardo Calafiori to bolster their defensive department.

Additionally, it has been reported that the North London club want to sign a new midfielder and striker ahead of next season to help Mikel Arteta mount yet another title charge next season.

But, it seems Arsenal are also considering signing a new wide attacker in this transfer window with Eze emerging as a serious option. According to the report by The Guardian, Arteta’s side are interested in the Englishman and they could make a concrete approach to secure his signature over the coming weeks.

The winger reportedly has a £68m release clause, including bonuses, in his current contract so the North London club will have to splash a big sum to lure him to the Emirates Stadium this summer. However, Crystal Palace reportedly don’t want to let him leave having already sold Michael Olise to Bayern Munich.

Eze to Arsenal

In addition, it has been reported that Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are also plotting a swoop for him so it won’t be easy for Arsenal to get any potential deal done for him.

After joining the Eagles from Queens Park Rangers back in 2020, the 26-year-old has established himself as a talismanic figure for the South London club over the last few years.

He displayed impressive performances last term and as a result, he has been selected to play for England in the European Championship. The Three Lions have reached the semi-final of this competition and he made his mark largely from the bench for his nation.

Eze is a versatile forward as he is comfortable playing in the left-wing position as well as in the box-to-box role. He is technically sound and has the efficiency of scoring goals from set-piece situations.

He is a Premier League proven star and would bolster the North London club’s squad should they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal eventually opt to formalise their interest in signing him.
