Arsenal interested in signing Eberechi Eze this summer
Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze this summer, as per Football Transfers.
The 26-year-old displayed impressive performances for the Eagles last term, scoring 11 goals and registering six assists in 31 appearances in all competitions.
Having enjoyed a promising domestic campaign, the forward has been selected to play for England in the European Championship. He has largely been used as an impact substitute by Gareth Southgate but he has reached the final of this competition with his nation.
Now, according to the report by Football Transfers, Arsenal are considering signing a new forward this summer and have identified the Crystal Palace star as a serious option.
The report further claims that the Gunners have already held talks with the player’s representatives before making a potential swoop in this transfer window.
Eze to Arsenal
Eze reportedly has a release clause worth around £60m fee upfront plus £8m in bonuses so the North London club will have to spend a big fee to lure the Englishman to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
However, Football Transfers reports that Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are also keen on signing him with the Lilywhites currently leading this race. In addition, it has been mentioned that Eze thinks he won’t be the first-choice option at Arsenal so he is reluctant to join the club.
Eze is a Premier League proven player so he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they purchase him. However, they already have Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard at their disposal to deploy on the left flank, while Gabriel Jesus can also provide cover in this position if needed.
So, the Gunners don’t need to splash a big fee to add a new left-winger this summer, rather they would be better off exploring options to sign a new right-winger to support Bukayo Saka.
Nevertheless, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually decide to make a concrete approach to sign the 26-year-old in this transfer window.
Eze has reached the final of the European Championship, therefore, any move regarding him is unlikely to happen before the end of this competition.
