Arsenal ready to spend big to sign Raphinha this summer
Arsenal are reportedly ready to spend big to sign Barcelona star Raphinha this summer, as per the Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.
The Gunners have been exploring the possibility of signing a new right-winger to support Bukayo Saka over the last few years. However, despite being linked with numerous names, they haven’t opted to sign anyone yet.
The North London club hold a long-term interest in the Brazilian as they tried to purchase him a couple of years ago. But, he opted to join Barcelona, rejecting a move to the Emirates Stadium.
However, it appears despite failing to purchase him previously, Arsenal haven’t given up on their hopes of signing him and are willing to secure his signature this summer.
While citing and translating the print version of Mundo Deportivo, Sport Witness has reported that Arsenal are ready to spend a fee of around £42m to sign the Brazilian this summer.

However, the report says that Al Hilal are also in this race and have tabled a £55m. Barcelona are open to accepting it, but Raphinha doesn’t want to move to the Middle East.
It has also been reported that Barcelona need money and therefore they would accept a fee of around £50m from Arsenal if they submit a proposal around that.
Raphinha is an explosive, hardworking forward and he has previously showcased his qualities in the Premier League during his time with Leeds United. So, he would be an excellent acquisition for Arsenal if they purchase him
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to secure his signature in this transfer window to reinforce their frontline.
Meanwhile, after narrowly missing out on winning the Premier League title last term, Mikel Arteta has made it clear that he wants to achieve that next season. So, Arsenal have been working on the market to hand Arteta the necessary resources to achieve the main objective in the upcoming campaign.
Riccardo Calafiori has already joined the club from Bologna and it remains to be seen how many more signings Arsenal will eventually make before the end of this window.
