Arsenal reportedly remain interested in signing Brentford star Ivan Toney this summer, as per Caught Offside.

The Gunners have so far made only one addition in this transfer window. But, they are reportedly keen on signing a new midfielder and have been working on luring Real Sociedad ace Mikel Merino to the Emirates Stadium.

However, it has widely been reported that Arsenal also want a new centre-forward before the end of this window. Toney was suggested as the primary target earlier this summer but it looked like they decided to stop pursuing him in recent times.

However, Caught Offside states that Arsenal remain interested in the Brentford star and could look to make a concrete approach over the coming days. But, they aren’t prioritising sealing this deal at the moment.

The report says that Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli are keen on signing him and are prepared to submit a £30m bid to Brentford. Moreover, they are ready to offer the striker a three-year contract with a salary package of £10m-per-annum. However, it is uncertain whether Toney will accept this offer should he receive it.

Toney to Arsenal

Toney has entered the final year of his current contract but hasn’t decided to renew it. So, Speculation surrounding his future has continued to emerge in this window and the Bees are said to be open to cashing in on him for a fee similar to that Al-Ahli are planning to submit.

The 28-year-old has showcased his goal-scoring prowess in the Premier League over the last few years. So, it was thought that top English clubs would line up to secure his signature this summer.

But, things haven’t pan out like that and although a few big Premier League clubs have been linked with a move for him, no one has stepped up their efforts to secure his signature.

Toney is a proven goal-scorer and he could help Arsenal finally win the league title next season if they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to make a concrete approach to sign him before the end of this window.
