Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a swoop to sign Palmeiras starlet Vitor Reis, as per Caught Offside.

The Brazilian club have been a production hub of young Brazilian talents in recent times as, after Endrick, Estevao Willian has also ranked through their youth system and is now a key player for the senior team. After impressing for Palmeiras, Willian has already earned a big money move to Chelsea.

Moreover, Gabriel Jesus also came through the Verdao’s youth system and now, it appears another youngster from the same club has started to attract the attention of several big clubs around Europe.

According to the report by Caught Offside, Arsenal have registered their interest in Reis and they are keeping a close eye on the defender’s development before making a potential swoop over the coming times.

However, the report says Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also plotting a swoop for him so the North London club will have to beat their rivals in this race to get the deal done.

Reis to Arsenal

Arsenal have signed Brazilian talents but while Gabriel Martinelli’s acquisition has turned out to be a success, Marquinhos hasn’t been able to flourish his career yet and has now been sent out on loan to Fluminense.

Reis is a 6ft 1in tall centre-back and has already established himself as a regular starter for Palmeiras at the age of just 18 following an impressive U17 World Cup last year. The youngster is quick, good in the air, comfortable with the ball at his feet and is also efficient in reading the game.

The defender is a highly talented player and possesses the potential to become a top-class centre-back in future so he could be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal with a view to the long-term future if they purchase him.

However, the youngster hasn’t developed yet physically to play in an intense league like the Premier League, therefore he is unlikely to serve Arsenal if he joins in January or next summer.

Nevertheless, the North London club could opt to sign him now and loan him out to develop like they did with William Saliba and he has now established himself as one of the best centre-backs in the English top-flight.
