Arsenal preparing bid to sign Alexander Isak in 2025
Arsenal are reportedly preparing a formal proposal to sign Newcastle United star Alexander Isak next year, as per the transfer journalist Graeme Bailey.
The Gunners reportedly wanted to sign a new striker in the recently concluded summer window but they eventually didn’t make a concrete approach to purchase anyone before the deadline.
Following Eddie Nketiah’s departure to Crystal Palace, the Gunners have been left with Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz as the centre-forward options. But considering Jesus’ recent injury record, the North London club have seemingly started exploring the market to sign a new number nine next year.
On TBR Football, Bailey has reported that Arsenal have a strong admiration for Isak and are preparing a formal proposal to secure his signature in 2025.
However, the journalist says Newcastle have no intention of letting the Swedish international leave the club and have already held talks with the player over a new deal.
Isak to Arsenal
Isak isn’t close to reaching an agreement with the Magpies over a new contract but talks have been progressing well between the two parties. So, the Gunners have alternative options on their wish-list if they fail to purchase the 24-year-old with Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres being among them.
Bailey says that Isak will likely have a release clause if he signs a new contract with the Tyneside club so Arsenal can manage to hire him by triggering it next year.
The 6ft 4in tall striker can multiple positions across the frontline as he is a centre-forward by traits but can also be deployed in the left flank. He is technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, can finish off his chances and is also efficient in taking penalties.
Isak showcased his goal-scoring prowess in the Premier League last term so his addition would definitely strengthen Arsenal’s frontline if they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to make a concrete approach to secure his signature in 2025.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have suffered a few big injury problems during this international break as Riccardo Calafiori sustained an issue, while Martin Odegaard also picked up an injury playing for Norway last night.
