Arsenal plot raid on Euro giants to sign Jamal Musiala
Arsenal are reportedly plotting a raid on Bayern Munich to sign Jamal Musiala, as per a recent report.
After narrowly missing out on winning the Premier League title last term, it was thought that the Gunners would be busy this summer to reinforce the squad.
Although the North London club made a few new additions in the recently concluded window, they didn’t make any major acquisitions. They signed Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino, while Neto and Raheem Sterling also joined on loan deals on deadline day.
Now, it seems Arsenal have already started planning the transfer business for next year and as per a Spanish outlet (via Football Insider), Musiala is on their radar.
The player will enter the final year of his current contract next summer and Bayern Munich are willing to keep hold of him by tying him down to a new deal.
Musiala to Arsenal
However, the player hasn’t ruled out a potential move yet so this is a big encouragement for Arsenal. However, the report says Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also in this race therefore, the Gunners will have to overcome stiff competition to get any potential deal done for him.
Musiala is number ten by traits but is also comfortable playing in the left-wing position. He is technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, can create chances for attackers and also has the ability to finish off his chances.
The youngster, valued at around £110m by Transfermarkt, is already a top-class player and could become one of the best players in the world in future so he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to make a concrete approach to sign him next year to strengthen the squad.
Meanwhile, following a great victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League last weekend, Arteta’s side will now take on Atalanta in the Champions League on Thursday before facing off against title rival Manchester City in the league at Etihad Stadium next weekend.
