Confirmed line-ups: Atalanta vs Arsenal: Jesus and Rice start
Arsenal begin their Champions League campaign with a tough trip to Italy to take on Atalanta this evening.
We head into the match off the back of Sunday’s huge NLD derby win over Tottenham Hotspur so the boys should be full of confidence tonight.
Mikel Arteta has made two changes from the side that won at Spurs but David Raya keeps his place to start in goal. The back four remains unchanged with Ben White, William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes all keeping their places while Jurrien Timber continues at left-back.
Declan Rice returns to the starting eleven after missing the Spurs game through suspension. The England international replaces Jorginho in the middle of the park with Thomas Partey keeping his place.
Bukayo Saka is passed fit to start despite being forced off with cramp at the weekend. Gabriel Martinelli also keeps his place on the left flank but there’s a change up front with Gabriel Jesus given a recall.
Kai Havertz drops back into midfield while Riccardo Calafiori returns to the bench after recovering from a knock.
Youngsters Porter, Butler-Oyedeji, Gower, Lewis-Skelly, Nwaneri and Salah-Eddine are all named on the Arsenal bench along with Leandro Trossard and Raheem Sterling.
