Arsenal eye swoop to sign Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush

By on October 7, 2024

Arsenal are reportedly plotting a swoop to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush, as per Caught Offside.

After joining the Eagles as a free last summer having run down his contract with VfL Wolfsburg, the 25-year-old displayed glimpses of his qualities in the German top-flight last term.

Now, the forward has enjoyed a stellar start to this season, scoring eight goals and registering four assists in six Bundesliga appearances. He helped his side come away with a positive result against mighty Bayern Munich yesterday as he scored twice in this fixture and provided an assist. The match eventually ended in 3-3.

It appears the Egyptian’s impressive start to this season hasn’t gone unnoticed as he has already started attracting a lot of attention from several big clubs around Europe.

Caught Offside states that Arsenal have been following Marmoush’s development in recent times and they could now finally make a move to sign him next year.

Marmoush to Arsenal

Frankfurt won’t stop Marmoush from leaving the club if the forward’s potential suitors submit a formal proposal worth around £25m. Therefore, Arsenal can purchase him for an affordable price if they eventually make a concrete approach.

However, the report says Manchester United, Liverpool, West Ham United and Nottingham Forest are also lining up a swoop to sign Marmoush so it is going to be difficult for the Gunners to get the deal done.

Kai Havertz has been the first-choice striker for Arsenal and Gabriel Jesus is the deputy to the German. However, the Brazilian has been struggling to stay fit in recent years and has also found it difficult to showcase his best. Moreover, following Eddie Nketiah’s departure this summer, Arsenal have room to sign a new striker.

Marmoush is a talented player and has already showcased his abilities in the German top-flight in recent years. Additionally, he is comfortable playing as the centre-forward, second striker and left-wing role.

Mikel Arteta likes to have versatile players at his disposal and the Egyptian would be a perfect option. It is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to make a concrete approach to lure Marmoush to the Emirates Stadium.
