Arsenal in ‘prime position’ to sign Frankfurt star Marmoush
Arsenal are reportedly the frontrunners to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush, as per the Spanish outlet Fichajes.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed a stellar start to this season at Deutsche Bank Park, scoring 10 goals and registering six assists in 10 appearances in all competitions.
Now, Fichajes states that the Egyptian’s impressive performances thus far this season have already attracted a lot of attention from several big clubs around Europe but Arsenal are currently in the ‘prime position’ to secure his signature.
The forward is valued at around £33m by Transfermarkt and still has more than two and a half years left in his current contract. So, the Eagles are in a strong position to demand a big fee to sell him in 2025.
Frankfurt previously showcased their resilience to sell one of their biggest assets in Randal Kolo Muani and they eventually squeezed out around £70m from PSG for him.
Marmoush to Arsenal
If Marmoush continues to showcase his best throughout this season then Frankfurt may demand a similar fee to sell Marmoush ahead of next season.
The 25-year-old is a versatile forward as he can play in the centre-forward position as well as the left flank. Mikel Arteta likes to have a versatile player like him in his squad so it is not a surprise that Arsenal have expressed their interest in him.
The Egyptian is quick, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, has the efficiency of finishing off his chances, is clinical from the twelve yards and also has the ability to create opportunities for fellow attackers.
It was reported in the summer window that the North London club wanted to strengthen the attack by signing a new prolific striker. However, despite being linked with a host of options, they eventually opted not to sign any striker before the deadline.
Following Eddie Nketiah’s departure to Crystal Palace, Arsenal have room in their squad to sign a new number nine. It is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually decide to make a concrete approach to lure the Egypt international next year to strengthen the attacking department.
