Confirmed line-ups: Arsenal vs Liverpool – Saka and Timber start for Gunners
Arsenal will be looking to bounce back in the Premier League when we take on Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon.
Mikel Arteta has been handed a major double boost with the news that Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber are fit to start the game today. Saka has missed Arsenal’s last two games since suffering a hamstring injury while away with England but he’s back to start on the right wing. Timber has been out with a muscle injury lately but he’s also passed fit to start at left-back.
With William Saliba suspended, Arteta has opted to play Ben White alongside Gabriel Magalhaes in the middle of defence with Thomas Partey dropping into right-back. That means Jacub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko both start on the bench for Arsenal.
Mikel Merino starts alongside Declan Rice in midfield while Leandro Trossard will play in the attacking midfield role in the continued absence of Martin Odegaard.
Kai Havertz leads the line up front with Gabriel Martinelli offering support along with Saka. Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling are on the bench for Arsenal along with Ethan Nwaneri and Jorginho.
These are the teams:
Arsenal
Raya, Partey, White, Gabriel, Timber, Rice, Merino, Trossard, Saka, Havertz, Martinelli.
Subs: Neto, Nichols, Kiwior, Zinchenko, Lewis-Skelly, Jorginho, Nwaneri, Sterling, Jesus.
