Arsenal ‘interested’ in Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane
Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane, as per German football expert Christian Falk.
Having joined Manchester City from FC Schalke back in 2016, the German enjoyed a successful spell at Etihad Stadium, winning multiple league titles and several other domestic cup competitions.
Following that, he decided to return to his homeland back in 2020 and the Bavarian club opted to secure his signature. The forward has also enjoyed a promising time at the Allianz Arena over the last few years, winning multiple major silverware.
However, he has now lost his place in Bayern Munich’s starting Xl following Michael Olise’s arrival from Crystal Palace. Moreover, he has entered the final few months of his existing deal with Bayern Munich so speculation surrounding his future continues to emerge in recent times.
On Caught Offside, Falk states that Sane wants to stay at the Bavarian club by extending his current contract but the two parties aren’t close to agreeing a fresh term at the moment. So, he would be able to agree on a pre-contract deal with foreign clubs in January.
Sane to Arsenal
Newcastle United are interested in him but the player doesn’t want to move there as they aren’t in the Champions League and aren’t likely to qualify for Europe’s elite club competition next season.
Falk says that Arsenal are interested in him and they could make a serious move to hire him next year. The player previously ‘dreamed’ of living in London during his time at Manchester so Arsenal would be a perfect destination for him and his family.
Falk said:
“There are fresh rumours around Arsenal – we heard that Arsenal are interested. We should take this seriously! Already when he was playing at Manchester City, his family wasn’t feeling so happy in Manchester and always dreamed of potentially living in London. Arsenal, then, would fit perfectly within his and his family’s ideas.”
Signing a £50m-rated player for free would definitely be a great acquisition for Arsenal from a business point of view. Sane is still a top-class player so his addition would make sense from a football perspective as well if they purchase him.
Mikel Arteta seemingly wants a new right-winger to support Bukayo Saka as Arsenal have been getting linked with numerous right-sided attackers over the last few years. So, Sane’s arrival would fulfil his wish.
