Arsenal are reportedly planning to make a move to sign West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus, as per the Mirror.

After being impressed by the 24-year-old’s performances for Ajax Amsterdam, the Hammers decided to sign him last year. The Ghanaian enjoyed a promising debut campaign in the Premier League last term, making 14 goal contributions in 33 appearances.

The African started the new campaign slowly this term but scored twice in his last two games in the league. However, he has been suspended at the moment having picked up a straight red card against Tottenham Hotspur last month.

Now, the Mirror reports that Arsenal are lining up Kudus as a potential replacement for Leandro Trossard – who has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.

Al-Ittihad tried to sign the Belgian late in the summer window but Arsenal eventually managed to keep hold of him. However, the Saudi Arabian club haven’t given up on their hopes of signing him and are looking to secure his service for a fee of around £40m next year.

Kudus to Arsenal

So, Arsenal are aiming to lure Kudus away from London Stadium and Julen Lopetegui’s side value their star man at around £90m. The Gunners purchased Declan Rice by splashing £105m from West Ham last year, now, it remains to be seen whether Mikel Arteta’s side make a raid on West Ham once again to sign yet another of their key player next year.

The forward is a versatile player as he is comfortable playing out wide but is also capable of providing cover in the centre-forward position and the number-ten position if needed.

Kudus is a technically gifted player and possesses the potential to become a top-class player in future. He can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, can link-up the play, is excellent at taking set-pieces and has an eye for long-range passing.

The African is a Premier League proven player so he could turn out to be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal if they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to sign Kudus next year.
