Arsenal predicted line-up against Inter Milan
Arsenal will travel to Giuseppe Meazza Stadium to face off against Italian champions Inter Milan in a Champions League encounter tonight.
The Gunners have accumulated seven points from three games in Europe’s elite club competition, sitting ninth in the table. The top eight will qualify for the round of 16 and the next 16 teams will have to play an extra knockout playoff round to reach the pre-quarter-final stage. So, Arsenal will be hoping to finish in the top eight.
Arsenal haven’t been at their best at the moment as they have only earned one point from their last three games in the league. So, they will be hoping to regain their confidence by winning this midweek fixture.
On the other hand, Inter have also accumulated the same number of points as the Gunners after playing the same number of games. But, they are ahead of Mikel Arteta’s side in goal difference. They managed to come away with a 0-0 draw against Manchester City earlier this season so it won’t be easy for Arsenal to win this game.
Team news
Arsenal will be without Takehiro Tomiyasu and Riccardo Calafiori owing to their respective injury problems. Moreover, Declan Rice hasn’t travelled with the squad to play in this game due to a minor issue but is expected to be fit to start in the next Premier League encounter versus Chelsea.
The good news is that Martin Odegaard has returned to full fitness after recovering from his injury and has even travelled with the squad to be involved in this fixture.
Predicted line-up
David Raya should continue in goal for the visitors, while Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Jurrien Timber could be the back four. In that case, Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko would have to make do with a place on the bench.
Amid Rice’s absence, Thomas Partey could start alongside Mikel Merino in the engine room, pushing Leandro Trossard into the attacking midfield role. Therefore, Odegaard is likely to feature off the bench for the North London club if needed tonight.
Bukayo Saka is set to be in the right-wing position and Gabriel Martinelli should be in the left flank. Kai Havertz is expected to be the lone striker for Arsenal in this game. So, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus might be among the substitutes.
Expected Arsenal line-up vs Inter Milan
Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber; Partey, Merino, Trossard; Martinelli, Havertz, Saka
