Arsenal are reportedly considering making a move to sign Ajax Amsterdam star Kenneth Taylor, as per Caught Offside.

After coming through the Dutch giant’s youth system, the 22-year-old made his senior debut for his boyhood club back in 2020 before establishing himself as a key player for them.

Taylor has had a productive start to this campaign at Johan Cruijff ArenA, making four goal contributions in seven league starts. Ajax are currently third in the Eredivisie table with 26 points from 11 games, sitting seven points behind the league leaders PSV Eindhoven with a game in hand.

Now, Caught Offside states that Arsenal are planning to sign a new midfielder next year and have registered their interest in Taylor. The Gunners have been monitoring the Ajax star’s performances closely this season before making a potential swoop.

The report further claims that Francesco Farioli’s side are keen on keeping hold of Taylor but they would change their stance should they receive an offer of around £29m with his existing deal set to run until 2027.

However, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Napoli are also plotting a swoop for him therefore, the North London club will have to beat their rivals in getting any potential deal done for him.

Taylor is a versatile midfielder as he is comfortable playing in the deep-lying playmaker position as well as the box-to-box role. He is technically sound, can play threading passes between the lines, has an eye for long-range passing and also works hard without possession.

With Thomas Partey and Jorginho’s existing deal set to expire at the end of this season, Arsenal will have to sign a proper top-class replacement for the duo if they eventually leave the club next summer.

Taylor could be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal with a view to the long-term future if they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to lure the Dutchman to the Emirates Stadium next year.

Meanwhile, following this November international break, Arsenal will resume their Premier League campaign against Nottingham Forest later this month.
