Arsenal plot raid on Juventus to sign Dusan Vlahovic
Arsenal are reportedly planning to make a swoop to sign Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic, as per Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.
After narrowly missing out on winning the league title last term, it was widely reported last summer that the Gunners wanted to sign a new prolific goal-scorer to strengthen the attack.
A host of options were linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium with Viktor Gyokeres, Alexander Isak and Victor Osimhen being among them. However, they eventually opted not to hire any new striker rather they focused on bolstering other positions.
Now, it has been suggested that Arsenal still want a new striker and numerous names have continued to be linked with a move to the North London club.
TuttoMercatoWeb state that Arsenal are interested in Vlahovic and they are ready to make a move for him if he doesn’t sign an extension with the Bianconeri.
Vlahovic to Arsenal
The 24-year-old’s existing deal at the Allianz Stadium will expire in 2026. Juventus want to tie him down to a new deal but haven’t been able to do that yet.
Therefore, if they can’t manage to reach an agreement with him then they would be ready to cash-in on him next year and want around £69m.
The Italian outlet claim that Arsenal aren’t the only club interested in the Serbia international as Chelsea and Manchester United are also keen on signing him, while the Blues are most determined to get the deal done.
Arsenal hold a long-term interest in Vlahovic as they tried to sign him a few years ago after being impressed by his displays during his time with Fiorentina. However, Juventus eventually swooped in and secured the move.
The striker, standing at 6ft 3in tall, hasn’t been able to flourish his career at the Old Lady of Turin but he is still just 24 and has plenty of time on his side to reach his full potential.
Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are the two strikers Mikel Arteta currently has. But, while the German hasn’t been able to showcase his productivity in front of the goal consistently enough, Jesus has completely lost his form at the moment. Therefore, signing a new striker would be the right decision for the North London club.
