Arsenal making moves to sign Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush
Arsenal are reportedly making the moves to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush, as per Caught Offside.
The Egyptian has burst onto the scene having enjoyed a stellar first half of this season. In 24 appearances in all competitions, he has scored 18 goals and registered 12 assists.
He is currently just below Harry Kane in the highest scorer race in the Bundesliga but is the highest assist provider in this competition along with Florian Wirtz.
Now, Caught Offside claim that Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle United and Aston Villa have all registered their interest in signing him having been impressed by his recent displays but Arsenal are currently leading the race ahead of their rivals.
Frankfurt want to keep hold of their star man and recently held talks with him regarding a fresh term. But, the player hasn’t given the impression that he wants to sign a new deal and Arsenal have already made contact with the Eagles to learn about the details of signing him.
Marmoush to Arsenal
The 25-year-old joined Frankfurt last year after running his contract down with Wolfsburg and his current deal will expire in 2027. Therefore, if he doesn’t sign an extension then the German side could be open to cashing-in on him next year to make the most profit out of his departure.
Marmoush is a versatile player as he can play in the centre-forward position as well as on the flanks. He is quick, can create chances for fellow attackers, is efficient in taking set-pieces and also works hard without possession.
Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are the two options Mikel Arteta currently has at his disposal to deploy in the centre-forward position. But, neither has managed to score goals consistently so signing a prolific new number nine would be the right decision to help Arteta finally win the Premier League title.
It is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to sign Marmoush to strengthen the frontline next year.
Meanwhile, following a 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town, Arsenal will face off against city rivals Brentford in the Premier League on New Year’s Day.
