Arsenal are reportedly prepared to put their best efforts in to sign Newcastle United’s in-form striker Alexander Isak, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.

After joining the Magpies from Real Sociedad back in 2022, the Swedish international helped his side finish in the top-four in his debut campaign in the Premier League.

The Tyneside club couldn’t replicate the same performance in the league last term but Isak displayed his goal-scoring prowess, scoring 21 goals and registering two assists.

Now, the 25-year-old had a slow start to this season but has been in excellent form in recent times, making 16 goal contributions in 17 league appearances. He has netted against Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal thus far this season.

Fichajes state that Arsenal want to build a squad to finally win the Premier League title and have identified they need a new prolific goal-scorer.

Isak to Arsenal

Mikel Arteta has earmarked Isak as an ‘ideal’ target so the North London club are ready to go ‘all out’ to lure him to the Emirates Stadium next year.

However, purchasing him won’t be easy as Newcastle don’t want to lose him just yet and he still has a contract until 2028. Howe’s side would only decide to change their stance should they receive an offer of around £124m.

Isak has been improving day by day and has started showing signs that he is close to reaching the high potential that he showed during the early stages of his career.

The 25-year-old is a centre-forward by traits and can also provide cover in wide areas if needed. He is quick, strong, good in the air, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, is efficient in taking penalties and is also composed in front of the goal.

Isak is a Premier League proven player so he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to secure his service to reinforce the striker position.

Meanwhile, following Nottingham Forest’s victory over Everton last weekend, Arsenal have slipped down to third place in the league and they will be hoping to regain the second position by defeating Brentford tomorrow.
