Arsenal register interest in Stuttgart star Enzo Millot

By on January 3, 2025

Arsenal have reportedly registered their interest in signing VfB Stuttgart midfielder Enzo Millot, as per Caught Offside.

After joining the German side from AS Monaco back in 2021, the Frenchman has established himself as a key player in Sebastian Hoeneß’s starting eleven.

The 22-year-old helped his side qualify for the Champions League by finishing second in the Bundesliga last term. He was even a key player for France in the Olympics last summer and won a Silver Medal.

Now, he has enjoyed a bright first half of this season, scoring eight goals and registering five assists in 24 appearances in all competitions.

Caught Offside claim that Arsenal have registered their interest in signing Millot after being impressed by his recent displays and are set to continue monitor his development closely before making a potential swoop.

The youngster is valued at around £35m by Transfermarkt and still has more than three and a half years left in his current contract. Therefore, Stuttgart are in a strong position to demand a big fee if they are forced to sell him.

However, the report say that purchasing the midfielder won’t be straightforward for the North London club as Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool are also keen on signing him.

Millot is an attacking midfielder by traits but can also play in the box-to-box role and can provide cover in the right flank if needed. Mikel Arteta likes to have versatile players so, he now wants to sign the Frenchman.

Martin Odegaard is the only specialist attacking midfielder Arteta currently has at his disposal following Fabio Vieira’s departure last summer. Ethan Nwaneri is also an option and has showcased his qualities whenever he has got the chance.

However, he is still just 17 and needs time to develop his career. So, amid Odegaard’s injury absence this season, Leandro Trossard was used in the number ten position but is more comfortable out wide.

Therefore, signing a new CAM to support Odegaard would be the right decision if Vieira eventually part ways with the club permanently and Millot could be a shrewd acquisition should they hire him.
