After playing the last nine consecutive games in all competitions in London, Arsenal will leave the capital to play their next game. They will travel to AMEX Stadium to face off against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League this afternoon.

The Gunners endured a topsy-turvy first half of this season but having accumulated nine points in the last three Premier League games, they have now climbed up the table to second position.

They are currently six points behind Liverpool – who have a game in hand. So, Arsenal will be hoping to continue the momentum in this fixture as well to close the distance with the Merseyside club.

On the other hand, Brighton enjoyed a bright start to this season under new manager, Fabian Hurzeler, but they have now slipped down to 10th position after failing to win the last seven league matches, accumulating only five points during this time.

Team news

Arsenal have a few injury problems at the moment as Bukayo Saka, Raheem Sterling, Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are all currently sidelined with their respective problems.

Moreover, Jurrien Timber is suspended for this game after picking up a fifth booking of this season against Brentford last time out. Kai Havertz was sidelined in midweek but should return to action today.

Predicted line-up

Arteta is unlikely to make many changes to his starting line-up that started versus Brentford so David Raya is set to continue between the sticks. William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are expected to be the centre-back partnership, while Riccardo Calafiori and Thomas Partey could be the two fullbacks.

So, Declan Rice could commence in the holding midfield position and on either side of him, Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino should start. Therefore, Jorginho is likely to be among the substitutes.

Ethan Nwaneri may start on the right flank once again following an impressive performance last time out and Gabriel Martinelli is expected to be on the opposite side. Therefore, Leandro Trossard will have to settle for a place on the bench.

Gabriel Jesus would keep hold of his place in the centre-forward position after scoring six goals in the last four games in all competitions so Kai Havertz could feature off the bench.

Expected Arsenal line-up vs Brighton

Raya; Partey, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Rice, Merino, Odegaard; Nwaneri, Jesus, Martinelli
