Confirmed line-ups: Arsenal vs Tottenham – Calafiori ruled out, Sterling starts

Arsenal desperately need a win to get ourselves back in the hunt for the Premier League title when we take on Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium tonight.

Liverpool’s draw at Nottingham Forest last night has opened the door and Arsenal can move to within four points of the leaders with victory over our North London rivals.

Mikel Arteta has limited options in attack as Gabriel Jesus has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury that he suffered during the FA Cup penalty shoot-out defeat to Manchester United at the weekend.

Bukayo Saka is still on the sidelines following hamstring surgery while Ethan Nwaneri is also on the treatment table so we are without three options for the right wing. Raheem Sterling made an impression off the bench at the weekend and he’s given a rare start tonight. Leandro Trossard is preferred to Gabriel Martinelli on the left.

David Raya keeps goal once again while William Saliba is partnered by Gabriel Magalhaes in the middle of Arsenal’s defence. Unfortunately, Riccardo Calafiori is ruled out once again with a muscle issue so Myles Lewis-Skelly starts at left-back. Thankfully, Jurrien Timber is passed fit to start at right-back.

Declan Rice starts in midfield tonight while Martin Odegaard will be looking to rediscover his best form after a few below-par displays. Thomas Partey also starts so Jorginho and Mikel Merino are named on the bench for Arsenal.

Kai Havertz came under fire for some poor misses against United so the German international will be hoping to make amends against Spurs this evening as he leads the line up front for Arsenal.

These are the teams:
