Arsenal are reportedly ‘exploring the possibility’ of signing AFC Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez, as per Caught Offside.

The Gunners bolstered the left-back position by signing Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna last summer. Moreover, following Myles Lewis-Skelly’s emergence, the North London club are well-numbered in this position as Jukub Kiwior, Kieran Tierney and Oleksandr Zinchenko are also at Mikel Arteta’s disposal.

However, the Scotsman is expected to leave the club in January or next summer. Zinchenko and Kiwior have also been linked with a move away from the club after finding it difficult to get regular first-team football in recent times.

Calafiori has struggled with injury problems this season, while Lewis-Skelly is still very young and needs time to develop his career. So, perhaps, Arteta wants to add more depth in this position.

Kerkez to Arsenal

Caught Offside claim that Arteta is ‘exploring the possibility’ of signing Kerkez as the replacement for Zinchenko and Tierney with the duo likely to leave before the deadline.

However, purchasing him won’t be easy as the Cherries have no intention of letting him leave the club. Additionally, Manchester United are also keen on securing his service.

The Hungarian international is valued at around £24m by Transfermarkt and has a contract until 2028 at Vitality Stadium. Therefore, Andoni Iraola’s side are in a strong position to demand a big fee to let their star man leave.

Kerkez has been in excellent form in recent times, making five goal contributions and keeping as many clean-sheets in 22 Premier League appearances this season.

The youngster is a highly talented player and possesses the potential to become a top-class player in future. Therefore, he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to lure him to the Emirates Stadium in January or next summer to bolster the defensive department.

Meanwhile, following a comfortable 3-0 victory over Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, Arsenal will face off against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League today. They will be hoping to keep their winning run going to continue the title march.
