Arsenal have been told they have a “massive chance” to beat Chelsea and other competitors in the race to sign highly rated Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.

The Gunners are in need of a dynamic winger to strengthen their attack and provide Mikel Arteta with additional options.

The arrival of a new wide player would also offer quality competition for Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli, both of whom have struggled with inconsistency this season.

Bynoe-Gittens, 20, has been recognized as one of the fastest-rising wingers in world football.

Despite Dortmund’s struggles in form, the English youngster has been a shining light, registering 11 goals across all competitions.

According to Metro UK the Bundesliga club is said to value him at around £83 million.

Several clubs, including Chelsea and Liverpool, have been linked with a move for Bynoe-Gittens. However, former Liverpool defender Markus Babbel believes Arsenal are the strongest contenders to secure his signature.

Arsenal tipped to land Jamie Bynoe-Gittens

Speaking to Wette.de, via TeamTalk, Babbel expressed confidence that the Premier League is a likely destination for Bynoe-Gittens next season.

I think there’s a good chance we could see Jamie Gittens playing in the Premier League next season,’

‘I don’t think Borussia Dortmund will qualify for the Champions League this season, or even for the Europa League or Conference League.’

‘They will have to sell some players this summer and Gittens is the player they’ll be able to sell for the most money – so a move would make sense for all parties.’

‘Given his qualities, he’ll be wanting to play in the Champions League next year which is why Arsenal will have a massive chance of signing him in the summer. He’d be a brilliant addition to Mikel Arteta’s team.’

Further discussing other clubs’ interest in the winger, Babbel highlighted that Champions League qualification will play a crucial role in his decision when choosing his next club.

Out of the other Premier League clubs linked with Gittens, I’m not sure about Tottenham’s chances of signing him, or even Chelsea’s, as he’ll be wanting to play Champions League football next year, which is why I believe he will leave Dortmund at the end of this season.’

Arsenal are expected to be active in the summer transfer window as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his squad. The Gunners will aim to reinforce key areas with high-quality signings to maintain their competitiveness at the highest level.
