Arsenal predicted line-up vs West Ham United

By on February 22, 2025

Arsenal will welcome West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium in a Premier League encounter this afternoon.

The Gunners will be coming into this game off the back of a 2-0 victory over Leicester City last weekend. They are currently second in the league, sitting eight points behind the table topper Liverpool – who have played an extra game.

The North London club thrashed the Hammers 5-2 when they travelled to London Stadium earlier this season in the league. Julen Lopetegui was their manager at that time, now Graham Potter will lead the East London club this weekend.

West Ham have had a disappointing campaign thus far this season, languishing in the 16th position with 27 points from 25 games, sitting 10 points above the relegation zone.

Team news

Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and Takehiro Tomiyasu’s season is already over due to their problems. Moreover, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka have been out with their respective injuries and are set to remain sidelined today.

Ben White was named in the matchday squad vs Leicester for the first time since playing against Chelsea in November and is ready to feature in this game.

Predicted line-up

David Raya is expected to continue between the sticks and in front of the Spaniard, Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba are likely to be the centre-back pairing for the hosts.

Jurrien Timber should keep hold of his place in the right back position, while Myles Lewis-Skelly would be on the opposite side. Therefore, White could be among the substitutes once again.

Thomas Partey is set to be the deep-lying player and on either side of him, Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard should commence and complete the midfield trio. Therefore, Jorginho would have to make do with a place on the bench.

Leandro Trossard may be in his preferred left flank, while Ethan Nwaneri might be on the right for Arsenal, deploying Mikel Merino in the false nine position following his brace last time out. In that case, Raheem Sterling would return to the bench having displayed a poor performance vs the Foxes.

Expected Arsenal line-up vs West Ham

Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Partey, Rice, Odegaard; Trossard, Merino, Nwaneri
