Arsenal predicted line-up vs Nottingham Forest
Arsenal will travel to City Ground to face off against Nottingham Forest in a crucial Premier League fixture tonight.
The Gunners will be coming into this game off the back of a disappointing 1-0 defeat against West Ham United. Following this result and Liverpool’s victory over Manchester City, the Reds have now extended the gap at the top of the table to 11 points.
Therefore, Arsenal’s chance to turn the situation around looks very bleak, but Mikel Arteta has said that he isn’t giving up hope of winning the title yet this term.
On the other hand, Nottingham have had a stellar campaign thus far this season, sitting third in the league with 47 points from 26 games. But, they lost the last two games.
Arsenal thrashed the Reds 3-0 when they welcomed them at the Emirates Stadium in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
Team news
Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and Takehiro Tomiyasu aren’t in contention to feature tonight as their season is already over owing to their injury problems.
Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka have been progressing well from their injuries but this match will come too early for them to feature.
Ethan Nwaneri limped off in the last game against West Ham so there was a question mark about his availability. But, he is fine and ready to get involved. Myles Lewis-Skelly picked up a red card vs the Hammers, therefore, he is suspended for this encounter.
Predicted line-up
Arteta is unlikely to make any changes to his goalkeeping department so David Raya would be between the sticks. Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba are set to be the centre-back partnership, while Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori should be the two fullbacks. So, Ben White might feature off the bench.
Thomas Partey could continue in the holding midfield position and Declan Rice might be alongside the former Atletico Madrid star with Martin Odegaard likely to be in the No.10 position.
Leandro Trossard is expected to be in the left flank, while Raheem Sterling could be on the right to give Nwaneri a breather. Mikel Merino is set to be in the false nine position.
Expected Arsenal line-up vs Nottingham Forest
Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Partey, Rice, Odegaard; Trossard, Merino, Sterling
