Confirmed line-ups: PSV Eindhoven vs Arsenal – Arteta makes 2 changes
Arsenal take on PSV Eindhoven at the Philips Stadion tonight in the first leg of our Champions League last-16 tie.
We’re still dealing with a crippling injury crisis in attack with Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz all still on the sidelines so Mikel Arteta has very few options to rotate this evening.
Mikel Merino continues to play as a makeshift striker with Ethan Nwaneri keeping his place on the right flank. Leandro Trossard starts on the left wing so Raheem Sterling has to make do with a place among the substitutes.
David Raya keeps goal for Arsenal once again while Jurrien Timber starts at right-back with Ben White being eased back into action. William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes continue their partnership in the middle of defence while Myles Lewis-Skelly comes in for Riccardo Caalfiori at left-back after serving a domestic suspension last weekend.
Thomas Partey is recalled to start in the defensive midfield role so Jorginho drops to the bench. Declan Rice starts once again while Martin Odegaard captains Arsenal and the skipper will be hoping to get back to his best form after a tough few weeks.
