Arsenal Given Green Light to Sign Kingsley Coman in £29m Deal

By on March 6, 2025

Arsenal have been handed a significant boost in their pursuit of Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman, with the German club reportedly willing to accept a much lower transfer fee than initially expected.

The 28-year-old Frenchman has been with Bayern since 2015, first joining on loan from Juventus before making the move permanent two years later.

Over nearly a decade in Munich, Coman has won eight Bundesliga titles and played a crucial role in their 2020 Champions League triumph.

Despite his impressive record, Coman has struggled for consistent game time this season. He has made 22 Bundesliga appearances but started only 11 of those matches.

In the Champions League, he has featured eight times under Vincent Kompany but has been named in the starting XI on just three occasions.

With his reduced role, Bayern are now open to selling the winger and, according to Bild, have significantly lowered their asking price.

Last summer, Coman was valued at around £58m, but the Bundesliga giants are now willing to accept as little as £29m for his services.

Arsenal’s Attacking Concerns

Mikel Arteta is keen to strengthen his attacking options, especially after recent struggles in front of goal.

Arsenal have been hit hard by injuries, with Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka all sidelined.

Their absence has been felt in recent results, as the Gunners have failed to score in their last two Premier League games.

The North London club have long admired Coman, and reports suggest Bayern even offered him to Arsenal in January.

While injuries have been a concern throughout his career, Coman has remained largely fit this season, missing only a brief period in December due to a hamstring issue.

Competition for Coman’s Signature

Arsenal are not the only club interested in the French winger. There is also reported interest from Saudi Arabia, where Coman would likely receive a lucrative offer.

However, a move to the Premier League could be more appealing for the former PSG youngster, given Arsenal’s competitive project and their need for reinforcements in attack.

With Bayern willing to part ways with Coman for a significantly reduced fee, Arsenal now have a clear opportunity to make their move this summer.

Whether they decide to act on their long-standing interest remains to be seen, but with their forward line in need of fresh options, Coman could be a valuable addition to Arteta’s squad.
