Arsenal predicted line-up vs PSV Eindhoven
Arsenal will welcome PSV Eindhoven at the Emirates Stadium in the Champions League last-16 second leg tonight.
The Gunners have found it difficult to score goals in the Premier League in recent times but were excellent in the first leg at Philips Stadion. They already have a 7-1 lead so they have pretty much secured their place in the quarterfinal of this competition.
On the other hand, the Dutch side will be hoping to come away with a victory at least from this game.
Team news
Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Takehiro Tomiyasu’s season is already over so they aren’t in contention to feature in this encounter. On the other hand, Bukayo Saka is also set to remain sidelined owing to his hamstring problem.
Gabriel Martinelli was unavailable for selection due to a hamstring problem over the last few weeks but returned to action last weekend versus Manchester United. So, he is available for selection tonight.
Predicted line-up
Mikel Arteta is likely to take this game as an opportunity to rotate his squad amid a busy run of fixtures. Therefore, Neto could get the nod to start between the sticks ahead of David Raya.
William Saliba might be one of the centre-backs and Jakub Kiwior should be alongside the Frenchman to give Gabriel Magalhaes a well-needed breather.
Ben White could make his first start in the right-back position after returning from his injury to give Jurrien Timber a rest, while Oleksandr Zinchenko is likely to be on the opposite side. Therefore, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Riccardo Calafiori could be among the substitutes.
Jorginho would be in the deep-lying playmaker position ahead of Thomas Partey and Declan Rice should be alongside the Italian. Martin Odegaard is expected to be in the attacking midfield position.
Leandro Trossard could continue in the left flank as Arteta doesn’t have many options available at the moment to rotate him, while Raheem Sterling may start on the opposite side ahead of Ethan Nwaneri. Mikel Merino is set to be in the centre-forward position. So, Martinelli is likely to feature off the bench.
Expected Arsenal line-up vs PSV Eindhoven
Neto; White, Saliba, Kiwior, Zinchenko; Jorginho, Rice, Odegaard; Trossard, Merino, Sterling
