Arsenal have secured their spot in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals after defeating PSV Eindhoven 9-3 on aggregate.

The Gunners dominated the first leg in the Netherlands, securing a commanding 7-1 victory. They then wrapped up the tie with a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.

Manager Mikel Arteta made significant changes to the starting lineup for the second leg. He deployed a front three of Kieran Tierney, Mikel Merino, and Raheem Sterling. Oleksandr Zinchenko, who scored Arsenal’s opening goal, played in midfield alongside Declan Rice and Jorginho.

Arteta’s back four featured Myles Lewis-Skelly, Gabriel Magalhaes, Jakub Kiwior, and Ben White with a number of regulars rested.

PSV showed resilience, equalizing twice after Arsenal’s goals – scored by Zinchenko and Rice. However, the Gunners held on to secure their place in the next round.

Arteta’s squad rotation allowed key players to rest ahead of their Premier League clash with Chelsea on Sunday.

Arsenal Player Ratings vs PSV

David Raya – 6/10

The goalkeeper made some good saves but gifted PSV possession with a misplaced long ball, leading to their first equalizer.

Ben White – 5/10

Returning from injury, White looked rusty at times and struggled to match PSV’s pace on the flanks.

Jakub Kiwior – 4/10

Caught out of position multiple times and booked despite winning the ball fairly. Lost his marker for PSV’s second goal, drawing frustration from Gabriel.

Gabriel Magalhaes – 6/10

Commanded the backline well and made a crucial first-half tackle to deny a clear scoring chance.

Myles Lewis-Skelly – 6/10

The young defender improved from his shaky first-leg performance, showing composure and maturity this time around.

Jorginho – 5/10

The captain for the night kept the midfield ticking but struggled when pressed. His mistake led to PSV’s first equalizer.

Declan Rice – 7/10

Played deeper than usual and took control of the game’s tempo. Scored from a well-timed run to meet Sterling’s cross.

Oleksandr Zinchenko – 8/10

Opened the scoring with a solo effort and maintained control in midfield. Showed respect by not celebrating against his former club.

Raheem Sterling – 8/10

His performance today has surprised a number of Arsenal fans, he played with purpose and set up Rice’s goal after working hard down the flank.

Missed a one-on-one chance but looked lively throughout, unarguably his best game for the Gunners and ended up winning the man of the match award.

Mikel Merino – 6/10

Showed some neat touches but did not impact the game significantly. Substituted midway through the second half.

Kieran Tierney – 6/10

Deployed in an advanced role but lacked the attacking impact seen from Sterling on the opposite wing.

Riccardo Calafiori – 5/10

Made an effort to combine with Lewis-Skelly and had a shot saved by Benitez.

Tried to create openings in his brief appearance, including a clever flick to Sterling.
