Arsenal to offer deal to sign Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane
Arsenal are reportedly prepared to submit a formal proposal to sign Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane, as per Caught Offside.
Mikel Arteta has long desired to sign a new right-winger to support Bukayo Saka and the Gunners have been linked with a host of names over the last few years, but they haven’t purchased anyone yet.
Ethan Nwaneri’s emergence has helped Arsenal and the youngster has been playing in the right side of the attack amid Saka’s injury absence in recent months.
The 18-year-old is a highly talented player and has been displaying promising performances. However, Arteta seemingly wants a more experienced option – who would be able to help the club win the Premier League title.
Caught Offside state that having already worked together at Manchester City, Arteta is ‘keen’ on signing Sane, who is poised to become a free agent at the end of this season.
Sane to Arsenal
The North London club are ready to submit a formal contract proposal to the German to hire him but the forward currently earns a very high wage at the Bavarian club and Arsenal don’t want to match it. So, he will have to lower his wage to make this deal happen.
The forward has won multiple league titles during his time with the Citizens and Bayern Munich. Arsenal need a serial winner like him to become the Premier League champions finally.
Sane is a right winger by trait but is also comfortable on the opposite side. Therefore, he would be a useful addition to Arsenal’s squad if they purchase him.
However, the Bayern Munich star hasn’t had a great time this season and has been playing as a rotational option under Vincent Kompany since Michael Olise’s arrival last summer. He has made 13 goal contributions in 35 appearances in all competitions this term.
Moreover, he has had injury problems in recent years so Arsenal would be better off exploring other options to strengthen the attacking department.
It is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to lure the German international to the Emirates Stadium ahead of next season.
