As the summer transfer window draws near, Arsenal are preparing to be very active in the market.

The club must strengthen its squad, especially its attack, to compete at the highest level next season.

The Gunners have been linked with several strikers, with Alexander Isak and Benjamin Sesko emerging as strong candidates to lead the line.

However, new reports suggest Arsenal have shifted their focus to Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres.

According to Portuguese outlet Correio da Manha’s Mais Sport, the north London club plans to launch a decisive move for the Swedish striker.

The 26-year-old’s impressive displays for Sporting CP have attracted attention from several clubs, including Manchester United.

Arsenal seek an advantage in the transfer race

The report claims that Arsenal are already planning to arrange a formal meeting with Gyökeres’ agent, Hasan Cetinkaya.

The agent, who is said to be a close friend of Mikel Arteta, could give Arsenal an edge over other suitors.

Manchester United are also reportedly interested in the Swedish international. Their current manager, Ruben Amorim, previously coached Sporting CP, adding another layer to the transfer battle.

Gyökeres’s contract expires in 2028 and has a £83m million release clause. However, Sporting CP are reportedly willing to sell him for around £63 million.

Arsenal’s management believes that Cetinkaya’s relationship with Arteta might help them seal the deal ahead of their rivals.

Since joining Sporting CP, Gyökeres has earned a reputation as a reliable goal scorer and a constant threat in attack. His performances have sparked interest from several top clubs, but Arsenal appear determined to move quickly to secure his signature.

While it remains uncertain whether Arteta’s connection to Cetinkaya will make a difference, the Gunners hope to beat Manchester United to the striker. Arsenal are gearing up for a busy transfer window, and securing a top-class forward remains a priority.
