Arsenal and Chelsea set sights on Barcelona Midfielder
Arsenal and Chelsea have shown interest in Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports from Fichajes.
Barcelona might be open to selling Casado if they receive a big offer. The club is dealing with financial challenges, and a sale could help them. However, reaching an agreement may not be easy.
Casado started the season well but has played less since Frenkie de Jong returned. His reduced game time under Hansi Flick has raised questions about his future at the club.
The young midfielder is under contract until 2028 and was once seen as a key player for Barcelona’s future.
But his limited chances this season have drawn attention from clubs in England with Fichajes claiming Arsenal are among his admirers.
Arsenal and Chelsea’s Transfer Plans
Arsenal are looking to strengthen their midfield, with uncertainty over Thomas Partey and Jorginho’s futures.
Neither player has been offered a new deal, which suggests they could leave in the summer as free agents.
The club is also pushing to sign Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi and could now consider Casado as well.
However, Arsenal face competition as Chelsea are also keeping an eye on Casado as they look to build for the future.
If he joins the Blues, he could either compete with Moisés Caicedo or play alongside him in midfield.
Barcelona have not shown any interest in selling Casado yet. However, if serious offers come in, they may be forced to reconsider.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea reportedly value him between £29m – £33m. With the summer transfer window approaching, his future remains uncertain, but a move to England could be on the cards.
Both clubs are gearing up for a busy summer transfer window as they identify key areas in need of reinforcements.
With Andrea Berta taking over as Arsenal’s new sporting director, fans will be eager to see how active he is in securing players who can take the team to the next level.
