Arsenal Desperately Looking for Isak Alternative

By on April 5, 2025

Arsenal’s desperate search for a professional striker continues onto a third successive summer transfer window as their latest option, Alexander Isak, is officially out of the market.

For months, those with Arsenal tickets were tracking the club’s progress with Newcastle striker Isak, but now, the story becomes more complicated as Newcastle was strong in their pursuit to add that he is not for sale.

Isak scored the winner for Newcastle in their quest for silverware at the Carabao Cup final, winning it 2-1 against Liverpool. A few weeks ago, they clinched the FA Cup, and they are adamant about showing that they want to build a future with the Swedish star.

And now, Arsenal are looking for other alternatives.

Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitike On the Horizon

Frenchman Ekitike, 22, has caught the eye of several Prem clubs, who have asked to be kept informed of his potential availability.

German side Frankfurt are expected to demand around £60m for a player who boasts 19 goals this season.

Ekitike was a target for Newcastle in January 2022 — when the forward rejected a move to St James’ Park — before Magpies chiefs signed Swede Isak in the following summer window.

The France Under-21 international, who hit a hat-trick against Lee Carsley’s Young Lions on Friday, has shone in the Bundesliga after joining Paris Saint-Germain permanently last summer following a loan spell.

He also has eight assists in all competitions for Frankfurt this season.

During the 5-3 win over England U21s, Ekitike scored twice from close range — including one back-heeled finish — and chipped the ball over keeper James Beadle.

Having been impressed in the Bundesliga and Europa League, the ex-PSG man is now keen to step up and wants to move to a Champions League club.

Ekitike does not have a release clause but is expected to move this summer as several teams seek a new No 9.

The striker will have a chance to impress English suitors as Frankfurt face Tottenham in a two-legged Europa League quarter-final on April 10 and 17.

Mikel Arteta needs a hotshot as Arsenal look set to finish second in the Prem and rally around for a fourth attempt at winning the Premier League next season.

The sentiments around those who turn up at the Emirates with Arsenal tickets are mixed as they feel that they’ve unfortunately been losing out to Manchester City in the last few years.

This time, they will face the misery of seeing Liverpool take the title.

The Gunners boss has been left short in attack with injuries after failing to sign a forward in the past two windows.

Arsenal has drawn ten Prem games compared to champions-elect Liverpool’s seven and scored 16 fewer goals—69 to 53—than the runaway leaders.

Viktor Gyokeres Another Hot Target

A report from The Athletic claims the Gunners are monitoring his situation and are interested in bringing him to the Emirates in the summer.

The Swedish forward has drawn significant attention from the Gunners, particularly from newly appointed sporting director Andrea Berta, who has long admired Gyokeres.

Berta’s arrival, confirmed on Sunday, is set to influence Arsenal’s transfer priorities – with a new striker high on the agenda.

Since his switch to Sporting from Coventry City in 2023, Gyokeres has exploded onto the European stage, becoming one of the continent’s most prolific forwards. In just 92 appearances, he scored 85 goals and provided 26 assists. This season alone, he has netted 30 goals in 26 league matches, powering Sporting’s title charge in the Primeira Liga.

Who is Viktor Gyokeres?

Viktor Gyokeres is a 26-year-old Swedish striker playing for Sporting CP in Portugal. After a steady rise through the ranks in Sweden and England, including a standout spell at Coventry City – Gyokeres took his game to new heights following a 2023 move to Lisbon.

Standing out for his physicality, clinical finishing, and relentless work rate, Gyokeres has become one of Europe’s most feared goal-scorers. The Swedish international has also been a regular for his national team and is regarded as a complete forward capable of thriving in the Premier League.

Those with Arsenal tickets understand the several failed attempts at signing a striker and will only celebrate the signing when the paperwork is in.

The last superstar signing for Arsenal was Declan Rice, where the club broke a record to get the Englishman in from West Ham.

Juve Looking for Partey?

With Thomas Partey’s future at Arsenal increasingly uncertain, Juventus are reportedly among the clubs monitoring the Ghanaian midfielder’s situation.

As his contract with Arsenal approaches its June 2025 expiration, Partey could become available on a free transfer, making him an intriguing option for Juventus as they look to bolster their midfield for the 2025/26 season.

Partey has been a key figure at Arsenal since he arrived from Atlético Madrid in 2020. Known for his defensive stability, physicality, and ability to control the tempo of games, he has consistently delivered high-level performances when fit. However, injuries have been a recurring issue throughout his career, which Juventus must consider carefully before pursuing him.

From a tactical perspective, Partey’s skill set could address Juventus’ need for an experienced and composed presence in midfield. His ability to break up opposition attacks and transition play effectively would balance a team that has struggled to dominate games in key moments this season.

Additionally, Partey’s leadership qualities and Champions League experience could prove invaluable as Juventus aims to re-establish itself as a European contender.

Financially, signing Partey on a free transfer would represent excellent value for a calibre player.

While his age—he turns 32 this summer—might raise questions about longevity, Juventus have a history of successfully integrating experienced players into their squad. A two-year contract could offer the club short-term stability while allowing them time to develop younger midfield options.

However, Juventus must weigh the risks associated with Partey’s injury record and consider whether investing in younger talent might align better with their long-term strategy. With competition from clubs like Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain also in the mix, securing Partey’s signature won’t be straightforward.

Arsenal tickets for the Premier League are now available to purchase.
