Confirmed line-ups: Everton vs Arsenal – Arteta makes 5 changes
Arsenal will be looking to keep alive our slim title hopes with a win over Everton at Goodison Park this lunchtime.
We head into the weekend action sitting 12 points behind leaders Liverpool so barring a monumental collapse from Arne Slot’s men, the title will be heading to Anfield. All Arsenal can do is keep winning games and we cannot afford a slip-up against Everton today.
Mikel Arteta is without Gabriel Magalhaes after the Brazilian international was ruled out for the rest of the season with a serious hamstring injury. Gabriel picked up the issue against Fulham in midweek and will undergo surgery.
Jurrien Timber was also forced off during the 2-1 win over the Cottagers with a knee problem but thankfully it wasn’t serious and he’s able to make the bench today. Ben White is also back from a knock as he replaces Timber at right-back.
Jacub Kiwior comes in to the defence alongside William Saliba while Myles Lewis-Skelly keep his place at left-back. Jorginho is recalled in midfield with Thomas Partey rested while Mikel Merino drops into midfield with skipper Martin Odegaard handed a breather ahead of the Real Madrid game.
Declan Rice keeps his place while Bukayo Saka remains on the bench with Ethan Nwaneri starting in attack alongside Leandro Trossard and Raheem Sterling. Gabriel Martinelli is also named among the Arsenal substitutes so Arteta clearly has one eye on the Madrid match next week.
There are the confirmed line-ups:
Arsenal
Raya, White, Saliba, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly, Jorginho, Merino, Rice, Nwaneri, Trossard, Sterling.
Subs: Neto, Timber, Tierney, Zinchenko, Partey, Gower, Odegaard, Martinelli, Saka.
