Eberechi Eze

Arsenal are reportedly battling with Premier League rivals over a deal to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, as per a recent Spanish report.

After moving to Selhurst Park from Queens Park Rangers back in 2020, the Englishman has established himself as an integral part of the Eagles’ starting eleven over the years.

He displayed impressive performances last term, making 15 goal contributions in 24 Premier League games. As a result, he was selected to play for England in the European Championship last summer.

Eze was heavily linked with a move away from the club ahead of this season but a deal eventually didn’t come to fruition so he stayed at the South London club.

The forward had a slow start to this campaign but has been in excellent form in recent months, scoring six goals and registering 12 assists in all competitions. He has been guiding Crystal Palace to finish in mid-table and has helped them reach the semi-final of the FA Cup.

Eze to Arsenal

Now, as per a recent Spanish report (via Caught Offside), Eze’s recent eye-catching displays have attracted the attention of several big Premier League clubs with Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City among those to have registered their interest.

Along With them, Arsenal have also expressed their interest in signing him. Crystal Palace feel it would be difficult to keep hold of Eze due to the growing interest in him and they want around £60m to let him leave.

The forward has been displaying his best in the attacking midfield position in Oliver Glasner’s 3-4-2-1 formation but is also comfortable in the left flank and the box-to-box role.

He is technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, has an eye for scoring goals from distance and also can create opportunities for fellow attackers.

Arsenal reportedly want to hire a new striker this summer and upgrading the left flank is seemingly also on their wishlist. Eze is a Premier League proven player and might be able to hit the ground running straightaway if he were to join the North London club this summer.

Therefore, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal, however, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arteta’s side eventually formalise their interest in luring him to the Emirates club in the upcoming transfer window.
