Arsenal reportedly remain keen on signing Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic, as per Caught Offside.

The Gunners have had an inconsistent campaign in the Premier League this season, sitting second in the table with a 13-point deficit from league leader Liverpool.

Therefore, Mikel Arteta is set to lose yet another title race. They were also knocked out of the domestic cup competitions previously so their only chance of ending the season with silverware is the Champions League.

The North London club defeated Real Madrid 3-0 in the quarter-final first leg at the Emirates Stadium. So, they are heavy favourites to reach the semi-final.

In the meantime, Arsenal are reportedly planning to reinforce the squad this summer to finally win the Premier League title next season. They are keen on signing a new striker as Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz haven’t been able to prove that they can guide the Emirates club to become the English champions.

Caught Offside claim that Arsenal are seriously interested in Vlahovic and could make a formal £39m bid to lure him away from the Allianz Stadium.

Vlahovic to Arsenal

The player will enter the final year of his existing deal this summer and Juventus have found it difficult to agree on a new contract with him. Therefore, they are open to cashing-in on him but want around £47m.

However, purchasing him won’t be straightforward for the North London club as Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Bayern Munich and Chelsea are also keen on signing him by taking advantage of his current situation at Juventus.

Apart from the Gunners, other Premier League clubs could also launch a formal £39m proposal to seal the deal.

Arsenal previously attempted to hire Vlahovic during his time with Fiorentina but he opted not to move to Arteta’s side at that time to join Juventus. However, he hasn’t had a great time over the years at the Old Lady of Turin.

Arsenal need a prolific goalscorer to bridge the gap with Liverpool, who might also bolster the squad this summer. But, Vlahovic hasn’t been able to score goals consistently in recent times. So, Arsenal would be better off exploring other options to strengthen the frontline.
