Preview: Arsenal vs WBA: Team News, Line-Up & Predicted Score
Arsenal play their final Premier League of the season tomorrow when we take on West Bromwich Albion at the Emirates.
Our 0-0 draw with Sunderland on Wednesday night was a disappointment but at least the point has ensured we’ll finish third in the league this season – well, almost.
We hold a three point lead over Man Utd and have a +7 goal difference advantage, so it’s going to take something special to see us finish fourth and miss out on automatic Champions League qualification.
West Brom also have very little left to play for as they are comfortably in mid table, but that didn’t stop them from thrashing Chelsea 3-0 on Monday night and they also beat Man Utd at Old Trafford recently, so we know it won’t be an easy game.
Team News
Oxlade-Chamberlain is back in training after recovering from a hamstring injury but he won’t play any part tomorrow as he looks to get himself fit ahead of the FA Cup final.
Debuchy and Welbeck are also back in training but they too won’t be in contention against West Brom and face a race against time to be fit to face Aston Villa.
Wenger has said he’ll resist the temptation to rest several players but may make a couple of changes from the team that started in midweek.
As for West Brom, their only absentee is goalkeeper Ben Foster – who’s out for several months with a serious knee injury.
Preferred Line-Up
I think the boss would be making a mistake if he didn’t take this opportunity to rest a few key men. We’ve looked jaded in recent weeks and the likes of Bellerin, Koscielny, Cazorla, Sanchez and Giroud could all do with a breather.
Whoever Arsene plans to start in goal at Wembley should be left out tomorrow. As he’s expected to stick with Szczesny as his Cup keeper, Ospina is likely to play against West Brom.
I also wouldn’t risk Coquelin in midfield which would force me to start Flamini. It’s not ideal but better than seeing Coquelin pick up an injury.
The side below doesn’t have a lot of balance and there’s virtually no chance Arsene will go with this eleven, but my priority would be the FA Cup so I’d play a weakened side tomorrow:
Predicted Score
The Sunderland draw was a disappointment but at least we created chances and I’m sure if we can carve out 20+ efforts tomorrow, at least one will go in this time.
I’m expecting a fairly low key game as our players won’t want to risk getting injured ahead of the final and West Brom will no doubt keep it tight at the back, but I hope we can grind out a 1-0 win. Arsenal 1-0 West Brom.
