Reports are circulating suggesting that Theo Walcott has ended speculation over his future by signing a new four-year contract extension with Arsenal.
Theo was set to enter the final year of his current £100,000-a-week deal and there had been talk that he could be on his way out of the Emirates this summer unless he committed his future to the club.
However, Football Insider – which is run by former chief Goal correspondent Wayne Veysey – claims that Walcott has now signed a new four-year deal that will keep him at Arsenal until he’s at least 30.
This news comes as many people on Twitter cite that the Guardian have also confirmed that Theo has agreed a new four-year deal – however I can’t find any evidence from the Guardian to back up these claims.

We’ll have to wait and see if Arsenal make any announcement over the coming days but I’m reserving my judgement until something more concrete comes out as these reports are lacking any real credibility at the moment.
Obviously I hope they are true, as I still think Walcott is an important member of the squad and will play a vital role for Arsenal if he does end up staying at the club.
He was one of our key assets before his untimely knee injury and while he struggled to regain his place during the second half of the season, he showed us exactly what he’s capable of when given the chance after scoring four goals in the last two games against West Brom and Aston Villa.
At 26, Theo’s also coming to his peak years so while I’m taking these reports with a pinch of salt, I really hope he has agreed a new deal.
