Arsenal injury blow – Walcott & Ox ruled out of Spurs & Bayern games
Arsenal have been hit by a double blow with the news that Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are set to miss our next three games through injury.
The Ox was forced off inside the opening two minutes of our Capital One Cup clash at Sheffield Wednesday last night after suffering a hamstring injury.
Walcott came on for the midfielder but he lasted just 15 minutes after going down clutching his calf and we went on to lose the game 3-0 thanks to a toothless display at Hillsborough.
The result was bad but most fans were more concerned about the condition of Chamberlain and Walcott and unfortunately it looks like the result are in, and they aren’t good.
BBC journalist David Ornstien is one of several who are reporting this evening that both players have now been ruled out of our next three games before the international break.
This means they’ll miss this weekend’s trip to Swansea, next weeks vital Champions League clash at Bayern Munich and the North London derby against Tottenham.
There has been no official word from Arsenal yet but if this information is accurate then it’s a major double blow and we’re really going to struggle over the next few games.
With so many injuries, we’ll be relying on Giroud to stay fit and lead the line in three huge games over the course of a week – which is going to be a huge ask for the Frenchman. Plus lets not forget he played the entire ninety minutes in our previous two games as well.
Just as we were starting to build some momentum, injuries have ripped through the squad once again. Sigh…..
Walcott (calf) & Ox (hamstring) expected to miss 3 games. Early indication TW slightly worse but both set to be out for #Swans #Bayern #THFC
