Wenger offers injury update on Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain & Arteta
Arsene Wenger has given an update on the recovery of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Aaron Ramsey, Mikel Arteta and David Ospina ahead of our Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.
None of the quartet are going to be involved tonight, obviously, but the boss has revealed to Arsenal.com that Arteta and Ospina will return to first team training on Friday.
Arteta has been nursing an ankle injury in recent weeks while Ospina has been out with a shoulder injury that he sustained while on international duty with Colombia last month but it looks as though they are now closing in on their comebacks.
Ramsey suffered his hamstring injury during the reverse fixture against Bayern two weeks ago while The Ox picked up a hamstring problem against Sheffield Wednesday last Tuesday.
Arsene has always said he hoped the pair would be available again after the upcoming international break and it appears they are on course to meet that time-scale. It means they’ll still miss Sunday’s North London Derby against Tottenham but should be back for the trip to West Brom on November 21st.
So we’ve just got to get through the next two games against Bayern and Tottenham and we should then get a few key men back.
Here is what Arsene told the clubs website:
on Arteta, Ospina and other injuries…
They are all very close. I think Arteta will be back in full training on Friday, Ospina as well. After the break, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ramsey [could be] back as well.
