Preview: Arsenal v Burnley, Team News, Line-Up & Prediction
Arsenal will try to ease in to the fifth round of the FA Cup when we entertain Burnley at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon.
Consecutive FA Cup successes have certainly put a smile back on Arsenal fans’ faces after nine barren years without a trophy and of course we want to try and defend the cup again this year.
However, I think it’s safe to say the Premier League title should be our priority during the second half of the season as we’ve got an excellent chance of lifting the title for the first time since 2004.
With that said, Arsene Wenger still needs to ensure the players are focused tomorrow as Burnley are a dangerous side who are pushing for promotion from the Championship this season.
Team News
Arsene has hinted that Elneny is set to make his long-awaited debut after being an unused substitute in each of our last three games following his arrival from Basel.
Coquelin is back in contention after recovering from a knee injury while Rosicky is also available again after overcoming a knee problem that he sustained back in June.
Welbeck is back in full training but this game comes too soon as he’s lacking match fitness so he remains out along with Wilshere and Cazorla – who are our only two injured players at present.
Mertesacker is suspended following his dismissal against Chelsea while the boss has confirmed Ospina will start in goal tomorrow.
Preferred Line-Up
With a huge game against Southampton on Tuesday, I expect Arsene to rest a few key men tomorrow as we desperately need to bounce back following last weeks defeat to Chelsea.
As well as Cech, I’d like to see Koscielny, Monreal, Ramsey, Ozil, Sanchez and Giroud rested with Chambers, Gibbs, Coquelin, Elneny, The Ox and Iwobi coming in.
Walcott hasn’t looked himself recently so I’d like to see him given a run-out through the middle – where he was impressing earlier in the season before he got injured.
This would be my line-up:
Predicted Score
Despite the weakened side, we are still able to field a team full of quality and no matter who Arsene picks tomorrow, we should have far too much for Burnley as long as the players are focused and don’t take the opposition too lightly. I’m backing the boys to get the job done.
Arsenal 3-1 Burnley
COYG!!!
