Wenger: Gabriel ruled out for 1 week, Koscielny passed fit
Arsene Wenger has given another update on the fitness of Gabriel and Laurent Koscielny this morning and it looks like the duo are set for swift returns to action.
Koscielny was forced off at half time during our 2-1 victory over Leicester City last weekend after picking up a dead leg shortly before the break.
The boss has confirmed that the centre-back will undergo a fitness test at London Colney this morning but expects Kos to be passed fit, as he says the French international will be available for selection against Hull tomorrow.
In a further boost, Wenger has also revealed that Gabriel is expected to return in just one week after missing the Leicester game with a hamstring injury.
The defender went back to Brazil to undergo treatment earlier this week and widespread reports suggested he would be out for up to a month, which would have been a huge blow. However, Arsene says he’s already back outside running and should be available in a week.
Gabriel will miss Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Hull and Tuesday’s Champions League first leg with Barcelona but he may have a chance of returning to action against Manchester United next Sunday.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference this morning, Arsene also confirmed that Jack Wilshere will be out for another 3-4 weeks.
