Arsenal shareholder: Guardiola wanted Arsenal job with Henry as No.2

By on March 3, 2016

Piers Morgan has dropped a bombshell after claiming that Pep Guardiola wanted to become Arsenal manager and bring in Thierry Henry as his No.2.

Morgan is an Arsenal shareholder and die-hard Gooner, and he took to Twitter this morning to tell his near 5 million followers that Guardiola wanted to take Arsene Wenger’s job this summer.

And not only that, the Bayern Munich coach supposedly wanted Arsenal legend Thierry Henry to be his assistant at the Emirates Stadium. Talk about dream team!

“I was told on VERY good authority last night that Pep Guardiola wanted to come to Arsenal with Thierry Henry as his No2,” Morgan tweeted.

This revelation comes after we slumped to a hugely disappointing defeat at home to Swansea which has left our title hopes hanging in the balance, so understandably it’s not gone down too well among the Arsenal fan-base.

The calls for #WengerOut grow by the day and the news that the club have turned down the opportunity to replace him with Guardiola – the world’s most desirable coach – has infuriate thousands of Gooners.

It’s difficult to be subjective after two hugely disappointing results but the fact is the players look short of ideas and the team is a total shambles right now, and the buck has to stop with the manager.

I think too many fans have turned and even winning the title this year might not be enough to persuade some that Wenger should stay on. Perhaps the perfect scenario would be Arsene pulling off a magnificent title win and leaving the club on a high this summer.

Unfortunately Guardiola won’t be the man to take over if he does….
