Duo to miss key game: My 4-2-3-1 Arsenal line-up v Sunderland

Arsenal will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when we take on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday lunchtime. This is the team I’d like to see Arsene Wenger go with….

Goalkeeper: Cech

Cech was handed a rest for the midweek League Cup win over Reading so he’ll come back in to the side this weekend with Martinez dropping out.

Defence: Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal

Arsene Wenger is set to recall his big guns with Mustafi and Koscielny coming back in to the defence while Bellerin will also get a recall. It was great to see Jenkinson back on Tuesday night but no doubt Hector is still our first choice right-back.

I thought Gibbs put in a good shift in midweek and with Monreal not at his best so far this season, I actually think the left-back spot is wide open. I’m not sure Gibbs has done enough just yet to reclaim the first team shirt but he’s getting close.

Midfield: Elneny, Coquelin

Unfortunately it looks as though Cazorla isn’t going to be ready to return from his achilles injury. Wenger has given no indication as to when the Spaniard will return and I’m sure they’ll be being cautious considering the problems Santi had with his achilles last season, so I don’t expect him to make the trip to the north east.

Ramsey could be back in the squad but he’s unlikely to be fit enough to start just yet so with Xhaka serving the last of his three-game ban, we don’t have too many options in the middle of the park.

Therefore, despite the combination not working against Middlesbrough last weekend, I think we’ll see Elneny start alongside Coquelin again.

Attack: Walcott, Ozil, Oxlade-Chamberlain

Ozil and Walcott are certain to get recalls to the attack but Arsene has a decision to make on the left wing. Iwobi has been the regular starter so far this season but reports claim that The Ox could get the nod this weekend and I think it’s the right choice.

Iwobi has done nothing wrong but Oxlade-Chamberlain has scored three times in his last two games, and five overall this season compared to Iwobi’s none, so deserves a start in attack.

Striker: Sanchez

Unfortunately, reports today claim that Perez has been ruled out for six weeks with an ankle injury that he sustained in midweek so we have one less option in attack. Giroud made his long-awaited return off the bench against Reading but looked rusty so Sanchez is certain to continue through the middle at Sunderland on Saturday.
