Ozil out, Ramsey starts in 4-2-3-1: My Arsenal XI vs Bournemouth
Arsenal will be looking to make it three wins in a row over the festive period when we take on Bournemouth at Dean Court on Tuesday evening. This is the team I’d like to see Arsene Wenger go with….
Goalkeeper: Cech
Cech kept his second consecutive clean sheet after shutting out Crystal Palace yesterday and he’ll be desperate to make it a hat-trick tomorrow.
Defence: Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal
Mustafi was back among the substitutes on Sunday after recovering from a hamstring injury and while Gabriel has done well enough in his absence, I think the German international should come back in to the side and resume his partnership alongside Koscielny.
Bellerin and Monreal were both excellent against Palace so unless either have picked up a knock, they should both keep their places tomorrow evening.
Midfield: Ramsey, Xhaka
I’m going to ONCE AGAIN call for Wenger to start Ramsey alongside Xhaka in midfield. Elneny put in a solid display yesterday but he’s now off to the African Cup of Nations so we need to make a change in the middle of the park.
No doubt Arsene will turn to Coquelin but I’d love to see Ramsey given a chance to establish a partnership with Xhaka now that he’s recovered from his latest injury. Granit was superb against Palace and I think Rambo has the attributes to be an excellent partner for the Swiss star while Cazorla is out.
Attack: Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ozil, Sanchez, Giroud
All eyes will be on the ‘The Scorpion King’ after his stunning goal on Sunday and while his all-round game wasn’t that impressive, Giroud deserves to keep his place after scoring THAT goal [watch it here again].
Ozil missed the Palace game with illness and Wenger seemed to suggest he’s struggling to make the trip to the South Coast as he was still laid-up in bed yesterday so we have to assume Mesut won’t be available.
Iwobi played in the No.10 role yesterday and impressed during a goal-scoring performance so I’d stick with him and Sanchez once again out on the left where he was excellent last time out.
Walcott is expected to miss the Bournemouth game with a calf injury that’s kept him out of the last two games so I’d like to see Oxlade-Chamberlain come in for Perez. Lucas did okay against Palace but The Ox made a positive impact off the bench and I’d start him out on the right.
This would be my line-up:
