Arsenal boss confirms trio will miss Man City, attacker also a doubt
Arsene Wenger has been speaking to the media this morning ahead of our FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City on Sunday.
The boss has given the latest team news and confirmed that David Ospina, Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi remain unavailable while Danny Welbeck is also a doubt.
Ospina has missed the last three matches due to a muscle injury that he picked up during our Premier League draw with City at the start of the month so Wenger is likely to hand Petr Cech his first FA Cup start of the season.
Mustafi missed Monday night’s 2-1 win at Middlesbrough after picking up a thigh injury and Arsene says the German international won’t be recovered in time to face City on Sunday.
Perez hasn’t played since early March due to an on-going thigh injury and the Spaniard will once again continue to be on the sidelines this weekend.
Our options in attack could be further limited as the boss has revealed that Welbeck is a doubt after missing the trip to the Riverside earlier this week with a toe injury.
Thankfully we didn’t pick up any fresh injuries from the win at Boro so we should see a similar squad being used this weekend, although it remains to be seen whether Wenger sticks with the 3-4-3 formation used on Monday.
Wenger in. "We have uncertainties about Welbeck. Mustafi is out. Ospina is out – could be back in 10 days. Perez is out."
