According to The Sun, Arsenal have agreed a £10m deal with Leicester City for the sale of Mohamed Elneny but the midfielder has rejected the move because he loves living in London.
Elneny joined Arsenal from Swiss champions Basel in January 2016 but has struggled to establish himself as a first team regular under Arsene Wenger.
The Egyptian international made just 8 Premier League starts last season with the likes of Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey and Francis Coquelin all ahead of him in the pecking order.
Elneny has so far been deployed at centre-back during pre-season due to our lack of options at the back but his chances of regular football in midfield appear limited.
It seems Wenger was prepared to cash-in on the 25-year-old as The Sun claim Arsenal agreed a £10m fee with Leicester and gave them permission to speak with Elneny about a move to the King Power.
However, the newspaper says the player rejected the proposal because he’s happy living in London and wants to stay at Arsenal even if his playing time is restricted.
Obviously Elneny isn’t going to be a first team regular but he is a useful squad player so I’m glad to see him spurn Leicester’s advances to remain at the Emirates.

But Wenger is expected to sell several of his fringe players over the coming weeks with the likes of Lucas Perez, Mathieu Debuchy, Kieran Gibbs and Carl Jenkinson all for sale while Jack Wilshere and Olivier Giroud are also being linked with moves.
